Human Resources Manager

We are looking for an experienced HR professional to join our senior management team. Reporting to the CEO, this is a part time role, approximately 0.5 FTE and we are flexible on the hours to suit. Over time we are receptive to growing the hours should it be required.

We require an experienced HR professional with:

  • Relevant qualifications in HR and 10 years plus proven experience in HR.
  • Significant, proven experience in high performance and change environments.
  • Experience in coaching and motivating managers to get the most from their staff.
  • Current knowledge of the NZ legislative environment with respect to employment law. 
  • Experience in working with research scientists or engineers or within a technology company would be desirable.

Process Development Engineer (graduate position)

We have an opportunity for the role of Process Development Engineer (Graduate) to support the expanding work of the New Materials research group. This commercially focused group is seeking to support transformational changes in the New Zealand agricultural sector by leading a substantial industry funded project to develop new materials and novel uses for wool. The focused activities of the New Material research group are complimented by extensive collaboration across New Zealand and internationally.

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Tertiary engineering qualification with preference for a chemical or process engineering.
  • Hands on, practical engineering skills coupled to a can-do attitude.
  • Clear and confident communication skills capable of actively participating in a multidisciplinary science team.
  • Resourcefulness and initiative.

Post Doctoral Researcher - Electromagnetic Sensors

We have an exciting opportunity for the role of Post-Doctoral Researcher in our Electromagnetic Sensors Group to undertake research in an MBIE funded programme entitled “Hand-held high resolution medical imaging using microwave metamaterial lenses”. This group has a long and successful history of research and design into electromagnetic sensors for a variety of industries including agriculture, manufacturing and environment. Our new 5-year programme into medical imaging, well supported by collaboration with New Zealand and International world-renowned experts, will seek transformational change in point of care medical evaluation.

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • A recent PhD in either physics or electrical/electronic Engineering. Those in other relevant fields of research may also be considered. 
  • Experience in electromagnetic theory and application – experience in wave propagation or antenna design would be an advantage.
  • An ability to design, construct and execute experiments in a lab environment.
  • Skills in algorithm development for one or more applications in signal processing, modelling and hardware control.
  • Clear and confident communication skills capable of actively participating in a multidisciplinary science team.
